Thames Gateway Business Award 2017: Innovation

It was the huge day for entrepreneurs of the east London, Kent, and Essex. The top business personalities had attended the Archant’s annual Thames Gateway Business awards in Canary Wharf. Every kind of the enterprise- big, small, old, new- every business was recognised, honored and won the awards in each category respectively.

IT Firm Nutbourne Ltd– won the Company of the year, small business of the year and employer of the year award at the annual award ceremony. Marcus Evan, the co-founder said pleasingly- “it’s great recognition for our staff- we’re so pleased to have done so well.” “It has been great evening. We will definitely be back next year.”

Radfield Home Care Havering and Brentwood– won the Judges award which was the £ 12,000 Archant advertising packet. The Radfield has announced to use this package for the next year’s event to boost the revenue ahead of it. The director Jennie Bardrick said, ” we are massively proud of all our team.”

Uniform 7– won new business of the year award. Rachael Richards had set up the firm after the consistency of the work. The judges had commented that Rachael has built the good knowledge for the industry she is in. On winning the award, Rachael said, “I’m chuffed to bits, I’ll definitely be back next year.”

Karen West-Whylie– won business person of the year award. She is working at the Barking Enterprise Centre, offering the support to the entrepreneurs as well as their businesses.

Lauren Pavey– won the young entrepreneur of the year award. Lauren won the award for the dog grooming service, The Doghouse. “It’s pretty insane- I have got to thank my family. They give the drive I need to succeed.”

Palmers Solicitors– won the customer service award. They won the award for handling the difficult situations in the professional and sensitive manner.

PAESUK Ltd– won the innovation award. The IT company’s director, Altaf Patel said, “It’s the great achievement and all the hard work we have put in has paid off.

The Boathouse Cafe and Bar– won commercial business in the community award. They made the fantastic contribution to the Barking by showcasing the local artists as well as musicians. Dereck Daniel said, “This award isn’t just for me- it’s for all the people we serve and everyone in our community.”

The TV personality, Charlie Webster extended the congratulations to the winners and the entries on behalf of everyone attendees at the Archant event. She said, there were tough and strong competitors as well as entries in the event.

All the guests and the members of the business community enjoyed the three course meal at the East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf. The guests and the members also enjoyed the evening which was followed by the dance, music, conversation, food and drinks as well.
